Biomedical waste Management from Health Care Establishments (REAS).

Health care activities protect and restore health and save lives. But what about the waste and by-products they generate?

According to the WHO, of all the waste generated by these activities, approximately 85% is common non-hazardous waste, similar to household garbage. The remaining 15% is considered hazardous material that can be infectious, toxic or radioactive.

Biomedical wastes contain microorganisms that can be harmful and infect hospital patients, healthcare personnel, and the general population. There are other possible infectious risks, such as the spread of drug-resistant microorganisms after their release into the environment originating in health establishments.

KORU IASA SpA, has professionals with practical experience in the management and treatment of this type of hazardous waste.
